Our Dental Imaging Methods
One of the biggest advancements in dentistry in recent years has been in dental imaging. The transition from traditional film x-rays and imaging techniques to digital has improved accuracy and precision in diagnostics and treatment planning, while also making appointments more efficient and reducing radiation exposure for patients.
Digital x-rays offer numerous advantages over traditional films, most importantly that they result in far less radiation exposure. Aditionally, this advanced dental imaging ensures greater accuracy and precision in the detection and diagnosis of dental diseases. Digital x-rays also result in more efficient appointments and treatment planning, as the results are available instantly.
An intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes an image of the outside of the gum or tooth. The intraoral camera resembles an oversized pen. While simultaneously viewing a monitor, the dentist inserts the camera into a patient's mouth and gently shifts it about so that images can be taken from a variety of angles.Read more about Intraoral Camera
iTero Dental Impressions
The iTero Intraoral Scanner allows doctors to take a 3D digital scan of a patient’s teeth and bite rather than using a viscous impression material. This digital impression scanner can be used for veneers, crowns, bridges, surface inlays, onlays, implant abutments from single units to full arches and even modeling an Invisalign treatment. Patients are also able to view before and simulated after images of their dental treatments on an in-office computer display.Read more about iTero Dental Impressions
